| About Long Lake |
This picturesque 3,300 acre lake is located in the southeastern corner of Washburn County, Wisconsin. It stretches almost 19 miles and reaches depths of over 70 feet. Long Lake's sparkling clean spring fed water offers many recreational opportunities including fishing, swimming and boating, to name just a few.
Officially designated as the "Walleye Capital of Wisconsin" its cool deep bays, gravel bars and rocky shorelines provide excellent walleye structure. It is also widely recognized as a productive year around fishery for many other species including large and small mouth bass, northern, bluegills and crappies. The villages of ice fishing shacks that appear each winter give testimony to the success of it's tip-up and jig pole anglers.
Long Lake is nestled in one of the most beautiful and relatively undeveloped areas in Wisconsin. Yet it has many fine restaurants and is freeway-close to shopping and activities in Rice Lake, Spooner, and Hayward. Tucked in amongst rocky shores and tree covered rolling hills, this spring fed, crystal clear body of water wanders over some nearly 3,300 acres. With an undulating, hooked shape having many bays, its surface stretches over 16 miles creating 99 miles of scenic shoreline.
